We're looking for a senior specialist to lead our Belgium collections operations – not as a manager, but as the go-to expert who owns quality, identifies gaps, and elevates the entire team.

We're seeking a Senior Debt Collection Specialist (f/m/d) with a focus on our operations in Belgium. You'll be hands-on with debtor interactions and case management, while also driving continuous improvement, optimizing processes, and ensuring our team operates at the highest standards - all grounded in deep knowledge of Belgian debt collection law and regulations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to expert for all Belgium debt collection matters - you're deeply familiar with Belgian collection law, regulatory requirements, and procedural nuances. You maintain this expertise by staying continuously updated on legal changes and ensuring the team benefits from your knowledge.
  • Communicate confidently with consumers (B2C), clients (B2B) and third parties via phone, email, chat, and letter, providing solution-oriented and professional support.
  • Handle complex legal inquiries, disputes, and complaints from authorities with expertise and composure - including requests from debt counseling agencies, legal claims, court matters, and serving as the knowledgeable point of contact for bailiffs and court-related proceedings on Belgium cases.
  • Act as the primary interface between our team and our external service provider - coordinating case management, clarifying legal requirements, and ensuring seamless execution of collection activities.
  • Process cases efficiently and maintain up-to-date, accurate records in our CRM systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and address process gaps, gather client and customer feedback, and drive continuous improvements in our Belgium-specific procedures and service quality.

What we're looking for:

Must-Haves
  • 3-5 years of experience in customer service with a focus on receivables management and debt collection in the Belgian market.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented person with strong communication skills across all levels and channels - you take initiative and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Business-fluent communication in Dutch, French and English (written and spoken).
  • Completed MBO level 4 education or equivalent EQF niveau 3 or 4 (EU-Qualification).
  • Passion for contributing to fast-paced environments and a genuine drive to continuously improve processes and standards.
  • Good MS Office skills - you work comfortably with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Passion for AI and new technologies - you're curious and open to working with AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • A completed NVI basis or NVI problematische schulden is a plus
  • Prior experience in working with international service providers (1st line)

Our Interview Process:

  • First online interview with Jasmin (Talent Acquisition Specialist) - approx. 30-45 minutes
    We'll get to know you, your motivation and your background, and you'll gain initial insights into PAIR Finance and the position.
  • Second online interview with Daniel (Team Lead Collections NL) - approx. 60 minutes
    We'll dive deeper into your experience and the role. This is your chance to learn more about the responsibilities, challenges, and the team.
  • Third online interview with Zoe (Business Development Manager) - approx. 45 minutes 
    in French, Zoe is our expert for the Belgian market and will explore your knowledge and regulatory landscape in more depth.
